UKAF ACO New Chair – Ben Hood

Apr 3, 2023

Following last Friday’s AGM when WO1 Ben Hood was appointed as the new UKAF ACO Chair, he sent out this message to the membership.

Firstly, I would like to thank you, as I am truly humbled to be given this opportunity to Chair the UKAF ACO.  Especially given the high regard and esteem that Christian and his committee have been able to elevate our ACO to, during his distinguished tenure.  I only hope that I can repay your trust in me, by being anywhere near as effective as Christian has been.

This is a truly great ACO, as it provides opportunities that do not present themselves in many, if any, other ACOs and I encourage you all to take full advantage of those opportunities, when they are presented.  The opportunity to officiate at local Unit level matches, all the way to Lord’s, is a realistic prospectic within our ACO.

Prior to being elected as Chair, I highlighted that I would like to hear from all members regarding how we could enhance our ACO.

Therefore, I am reaching out to you all and seeking your thoughts, views, concerns on anything across the full spectrum of UKAF ACO matters.  I am happy to take these comments in confidence, if you wish, so please be open and honest.  I would then like to use these observations as a platform to motivate and focus us all, on taking UKAF ACO forward.

My direct contact details are: Ben.Hood481@mod.gov.uk

Thank you again for your support.  I vow that I will not take this position likely, and I am fully aware of the responsibility and trust that you have given me.

I look forward to officiating with you, when the season gets under way in the coming weeks.
